The Old Babylonian Period

A dynasty traditionally associated with Amorite rulers establishes itself at Babylon.

Hammurabi rules Babylon. He conquers much of Mesopotamia and becomes famous for the collection of laws known as the Code of Hammurabi.

Babylon is attacked by the Hittites, bringing the Old Babylonian period to an end.
